1.What the Badge Means
- The “NERIS V1 Compatible” badge (the “Badge”) publicly represents that your product meets the technical requirements for connecting to the NERIS application programming interface (API).
- It does not mean NERIS endorses, recommends, or certifies your product beyond its technical compatibility.
2.Who Is It For?
- The “NERIS V1 Compatible” badge is intended for companies that develop software products and services for the emergency response industry, such as Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) providers and Records Management System (RMS) vendors. These organizations integrate with the NERIS API to ensure their solutions meet the NERIS V1 technical standards.
3.Permission to Use the Badge
- Upon notification by the NERIS team that you have completed the technical steps for compatibility, you may use the Badge in your marketing, on your website, or on product materials solely to show you meet the NERIS V1 standards. Any other use of the badge is prohibited, including any statement or use suggesting that NERIS certifies your product beyond its technical compatibility, or endorses or recommends it in any way.
- This permission is a limited license, which will be revoked if you stop following these rules or if you no longer meet the standards.
- All Badge use must comply with the NERIS Terms of Use.
4.Staying Compliant
- You must keep your product compatible, within a six (6) month window, of NERIS V1 requirement updates.
- If you fall behind, NERIS will place you on a six (6) month probation. While on probation, you must discontinue the use of the Badge and resolve any issues by the deadline given.
- If you do not resolve these issues during probation, or if you misuse the Badge, your right to use it will be revoked, and your access to the NERIS production environment will also be restricted.
5.Proper Use
- Do not alter or change the Badge except to resize it proportionally for display.
- Do not suggest or imply that NERIS endorses your product beyond confirming technical compatibility.
- Any misrepresentation about your relationship with NERIS will result in losing the right to display the Badge and losing production environment access.
6.Badge and Intellectual Property
- The Badge and any NERIS-related logos or trademarks are issued at the discretion of the NERIS team, and their use is subject to partnership, copyright, and other related agreements and practices.
- Using the Badge does not give you ownership or any other rights besides what is described here.
7.No Warranties; Your Responsibility
- NERIS provides the Badge “as is,” with no warranties (including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose).
- You are fully responsible for your product and any claims arising from your use of the Badge.
8.Revocation and Termination
- NERIS may revoke or modify your license to use the Badge at any time.
- If that happens, you must immediately stop using the Badge and remove it from all materials.
9.Limitation of Liability
- NERIS is not responsible for any loss or damages related to your use of or inability to use the Badge.
